Meuse lakes

The Maasplassen are one of the many pearls that Limburg has to offer. The Maasplassen are an extensive, connected network of large and small lakes, created by gravel excavations. With a surface area of over 3000 hectares, the Maasplassen are the largest connected water sports area in the Netherlands and therefore the ideal place for water sports!

The Maasplassen are perfect to explore with a sailboat, yacht or sloop. For most boats you don't even need a boating license! You can get from one lake to the other via beautiful waterways. Don't have your own boat? Rent one! There are enough marinas to moor.



And… in the summer, when the water is at a pleasant temperature, you can of course swim, surf, sail, canoe and even dive. You can relax on one of the many beaches and cozy terraces. If you prefer challenging water sports, then the Maasplassen are also the right place for you. You can go water skiing, flyboarding and wakeboarding here.
